SUKKUR, January 18: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the foreign funding case against PTI is the biggest national security scandal in the history of the country and every Pakistani is asking who were the people who funded PTI.
Addressing a press conference at the residence of Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, a PPP MNA held hostage by NAB, the Chairman said that Pakistan had suffered as a result of the strategic decisions taken after the formation of the present PTI government. I have heard that the list of people funding PTI includes citizens of India and Israel. He said that every Pakistani was wondering why the citizens of India and Israel provided funding and what the present government had given them in return.
He stressed that ECP should bring the facts of the foreign funding case against PTI to the notice of the people who had themselves admitted that their agent was responsible if anything went wrong during the funding. He said that PTI and its facilitators had made false allegations against the PPP in order to cover up the facts of the foreign funding case against the ruling party.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed that every institution should be neutral and non-political. The disputed 2018 elections have had a negative impact on the entire country. The Election Commission’s summoning of the PPP on January 18 was a political move, he added.
Bilawal Bhutto said that all the parties in the PDM are on the same page that NAB has become a controversial institution. NAB Sukkur runs on telephone calls from various places, with orders to harass PPP candidates and Parliamentarians. There is no case against Khurshid Shah, he is being kept in jail without any justification. He said that NAB has become a political body that it only takes action against political opponents. It does nothing on BRT Peshawar, Billion Tree Project, Malam Jabba, flour crisis, sugar theft and other issues in which government people are involved.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari suggested that such a law should be enacted in the provinces and in the federation so that government employees working on anti-corruption could be monitored to see if they themselves were involved in corruption. Details of the assets of such employees before and after they enter government service should be made public, he demanded.
Replying to a question, he said that PPP wants protection of the rights of workers working in all industries including media.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari distributed 1024 flats constructed for the workers by the Sindh Department of Labor and Manpower and addressed a function held in this regard. In addition, the PPP Chairmen also inaugurated the Children’s Emergency Satellite Center set up by the Sindh government in Sukkur, where treatment facilities are absolutely free.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani, Nasir Hussain Shah, Jam Ikramullah, Owais Shah, Imtiaz Sheikh and Sohail Anwar Sial, MNA Shazia Marri, MPA Farrukh Shah, Nawab Wasan and Arsalan Sheikh were also present.
